Perhaps you feel anxious, irritable or utterly exhausted before your period. Or perhaps that’s when you feel at your best, but around ovulation, your mood changes, your energy disappears and ordinary demands suddenly feel too much. Some women notice both shifts. Others have one point in the month that seems to completely floor them.
If this happens month after month, you may have started planning your life around it without even realising it. Or perhaps you just haven’t linked the two together and feel completely lost. You know that on some days you function and flourish, while on others, you simply drag yourself through the day so you can get back to bed.
Let’s look at your pattern
Hormones shift throughout the cycle, and how you respond to those changes is individual. I want to understand when the anxiety or exhaustion begins, how intense it feels and what else happens at the same time. How are you sleeping? Are you eating regularly? Does your digestion change? What demands are you carrying on the days when you feel least able to cope?
Keeping a little note of your mood, energy and physical symptoms over a few cycles can really help us see the pattern more clearly. From there, we can explore ways to support your hormonal health through food, rest and daily routines, with the aim of making those peaks and troughs feel less overwhelming. We can also look at whether there are times in the month when you need to take a little more off your plate.
You don’t have to push through every day as though it feels the same. I want to help you understand your own rhythm and find ways to work with it.
